SCHUTZ, WILLIAM, fourth son of (Frederick) Augustus Schutz, Master of the Robes and Keeper of the Privy Purse to George II, and Penelope, dau. of Martin Madan, Nevis, West Indies; b.; adm. (aged 9) May 1733. [Perhaps Ensign, 2nd Foot Guards 28 Aug 1754; Lieut. and Capt., 11 Mar 1760; Capt. -Lieut., 15 Dec 1773; Capt., and Lieut. -Col. 3 Jun 1774; retd. 21 Oct 1782; d. 27 Jan 1783. But he would have been 30 when commissioned Ensign, which seems unusual].
