Silversmiths. Founded in 1898 as The Potteries and Newcastle Cripples Guild, by Millicent Sutherland, 4th Duchess of Sutherland. In 1907 renamed The Duchess of Sutherland Cripples' Guild of Handicraft (D.S.C.G.). They started producing art metalworks from 1902 under Francis Arthur Edwards employing twelve boys and later a number of adults. The Guild closed in 1922.

Silversmiths. Established in Sheffield in 1775. Incorporated as Mappin Brothers Ltd in mid-19th Century. Opened London showroom in 1849. In 1860, John Mappin broke away from Mappin Brothers and started Mappin & Company. He was joined 2 years later by his brother-in-law George Webb. Mappin, Webb and Co was formed in 1864. Mappin & Webb Ltd was first recorded in 1889, based in Sheffield. The original London business, Mappin Brothers, was aquired by Mappin & Webb Ltd in 1903.

Pottery company founded by Josiah Spode (1733-1797) in 1770. Company became Copeland & Garrett between 1833-47, continuing to use the Spode brand. Continued as W.T. Copeland & Sons 1847-1970. Business and factories continued under the name Spode Ltd from 1970. In 2006, merged with Royal Worcester. The merged company entered adminstration in 2008. The brand names and intellectual property were acquired by Portmeirion Group in 2009.
