Blandford ; Christ Church, Oxford, matr. 6 May 1636, aged 18 ; Usher, Westminster School, in 1643 ; Under Master, Westminster School 1645- May 1656, when he retired owing to ill-health ; his diary for the first four months of 1655 survives in the Bodleian Library, Oxford, MS Rawlinson D216 (J.B.Whitmore, “The diary of Thomas Vincent, undermaster of Westminster School, 1655”, in Bodleian Library Record 5, 1956, 308-11) ; “a most able, diligent school-master ; and one who grieved so much at the dullness and non-proficiency of any of his scholars, that, falling into a consumption, I have heard Mr.Henery (Philip Henry, qv) say of him, ‘that he even killed himself with false Latin” ; d. 1657 (will dated 11 May 1657, proved 13 Nov 1657).
