Sept. 25, 1902 (G); left Dec. 1904; adm. a solicitor April 1910; in practice at Burton-on-Trent, Staffs; served in France with the Montgomeryshire Yeomanry in Great War I; Capt. Royal Artillery (T. A.) Aug. 30, 1939; Major Jan. 1940; served at Gibraltar 1941 and in North Africa 1942-4; m. 1st April 15, 1914, Elsie Marion, daughter of John Hartland Richards, of Tamworth; 2nd Dec. 21, 1940, Stella Margaret, eldest daughter of Thomas David Protheroe, of Willington, Derbyshire.
