Bell, Edward Allen, brother of George Kennedy Allen Bell (q.v.); b. May 8, 1884; adm. as Q.S. Sept. 30, 1897; elected to Ch. Ch. Oxon. July 1903, matric. Michaelmas 1903; B.A. 1908; M.A. 1910; assist. Master at Giggleswick 1910, at Eton 1920; Head Master of St. Bees School 1926-35; 2nd Lieut. Giggleswick School O.T.C. March 2, 1915; served in France 1918, Lieut. 9th Batt. Norfolk Regt., and in 1919 as Major and Chief Instructor Army General College, Cologne; author of a History of Giggleswick School; was engaged in the work of the Oxford Group; d. July 9, 1959.
