Oct. 16, 1891; adm. to the Inner Temple in 1893, but was subsequently articled to his father, and adm. a solicitor Nov. 1902; succeeded to his father's business at Daventry, and became Clerk to the Borough Magistrates 1907-14; Man. Dir. Army and Navy Furnishing Co. 1921; served as a Trooper in Bethune's Horse in the South African War; enlisted as Trooper 2nd Life Guards Aug. 4, 1914; Lieut. R. A. S. C. Nov. 20, 1914; Capt. Jan. 15, 1915; Major Aug. 15, 1915; Lieut.-Col. Jan. 1, 1919; retired with rank of Brevet Col. July 31, 1921; mentioned in despatches; O.B.E. June 3, 1919; Ordre de la Couronne de Leopold; m. 1st Nov. 27, 1901, Maud, only daughter of Henry Arthur Attenborough, of Gloucester Gardens, Hyde Park, London; 2nd Dec. 17, 1921, Ruby Beatrice, daughter of William Love; d.
