Coleby, Eric, brother of Arthur Tindall Coleby (q.v.); b. May 12, 1888; adm. Sept. 25, 1902 (R); left July 1905; adm. a solicitor Oct. 1911; asst. solicitor, Cheshire Lines Committee, 1928-35; asst. solicitor, London and North-Eastern Railway, 1935-45; chief asst. solicitor 1945-8; regional solicitor, British Railways, 1948-50; asst. chief solicitor, British Transport Commission, 1950-1; legal adviser to the Railway Executive 1951; retired 1953; served in Great War I in the Motor Machine Gun Service and R. F. A., and afterwards as a Railway Transport Officer; Lieut. Oct. 28, 1916; m. Aug. 23, 1922, Doris, widow of Charles Dale, and only child of John Mansell Stuart-Edwards (q.v.).
