Jun 1731; left 1737; Page of Honour to Queen Caroline to 1737; Ensign, 2nd Foot Guards 17 Jul 1739; Lieut. and Capt., 16 Apr 1744; Capt. -Lieut. and Lieut-Col., 27 Aug 1754; Capt. and Lieut. -Col., 24 Mar 1755; Brevet Col., 19 Feb 1762; Second Maj., 20 Aug 1762; First Maj., 23 Dec 1763; Col., 29th Foot, from 3 Nov 1769; Maj. -Gen., 30 Apr 1770; Lieut. -Gen., 29 Aug 1777; MP Helston 1 Jul 1767-74; again elected MP Helston in double return 1780, but case was decided against him by House of Commons 19 Feb 1781; of Send Grove, Surrey; d. unm. 15 Aug 1783.
