        FELLOWS, WALTER, seventh son of Thomas Fellows, Moneyhill House, Rickmansworth, Herts., and Mary, dau. of Thomas Howard, Batchworth Heath; b. 23 Feb 1834; adm. 3 Jun 1847 (Rigaud's); QS 1848; elected to Christ Church, Oxford 1852, matr. 3 Jun 1852, Westminster Student 1852-6; BA 1858; MA 1876 (and ad eundem, Melbourne 1877); played cricket for Oxford against Cambridge 1854-7, Gentlemen against Players 1855-7; one of the best fast round-arm bowlers of his day and a slashing hitter; while practising on Christ Church ground in 1856 said to have hit a ball 175 yards (Wisden, 1916, p. 35); ordained deacon 1858, priest 1860 (both Peterborough); Curate successively of Weedon Beck, Northants., Ruislip, Middlesex and Sidmouth, Devon; Incumbent of St. John’s, Toorak, Melbourne, Australia 1863-1900; m. 10 Jun 1863 Julia, second dau. of Rev. Christopher Packe, Vicar of Ruislip, Middlesex, and Minor Canon of St. Paul’s and Windsor; d. at Toorak 23 Jul 1902.
