Gonne, Michael Edward, younger son of Henry Gonne, of Ringwood, Rants, barrister-at-law, by Grace Staveley, daughter of Henry Marsden, of Bombay; b. Oct. 23, 1898; adm. Jan. 18, 1912 (H); left Easter 1914; R. M.C. Sandhurst May - Oct. 1916; 2nd Lieut. 3rd Batt. Royal Fusiliers (City of London Regt.) Oct. 27, 1916; was at once attached to the R. F. C. and in March 1917 went to Egypt and thence to France in June following; Acting Flight-Cdr. Jan. 9, 1918; M.C. Feb. 1, 1918; injured while testing a machine in Feb. 1918, and was invalided to England, where, on resuming duty, he acted as gunnery instructor; rejoined his old squadron on the western front Aug. 7, 1918, and on the following day volunteered for the flight from which he never returned; was last seen Aug. 8, 1918, at the height of 2000 feet over the Somme crossings at Brie, and is said to have died in the German Field Hospital at Villers-Carbonnel; unm.

May 26, 1915; left England Feb. 17, 1916, and joined the 1st Batt. of his regiment at Busreh, on the Tigris, March 24; was invalided to Bombay in June, but returned to Busreh Oct. 12, 1916; killed in action at Kut-el­Amara, Mesopotamia, Jan. 9, 1917; unm.

Frith, Herbert Philip, only son of Edward Philip Frith, of Notting Hill, and grandson of William Powell Frith, R. A., C. V. O.; b. Jan. 21, 1890; adm. May 4, 1905 (A); left Easter 1907; Asst. District Officer at Lokoya, Nigeria, West Africa; was attached to the West African Frontier Force on the outbreak of Great War I; d. Nov. 16, 1914, from wounds received in action at Lokoya.

Faire, Eric Leslie, brother of Washington Morley Faire (q.v.); b. Sept. 30, 1893; adm. Sept. 28, 1905 (G); left Easter 1909; went to Lausanne, Switzerland, for the purpose of studying languages; enlisted in 25th (Co. of London) Cyclist Batt. the London Regt. at the outbreak of World War I; went out to the western front inJuly 1916; acted as Interpreter for his own Batt. for a short time, but was afterwards transferred to the 9th (Co. of London) Batt. the London Regt. (Queen Victoria's Rifles); killed in action at Maurel Oct. 8, 1916; unm.

Hunt, Arthur George, youngest son of Frederick William Hunt, of St. Marylebone, architect, by Mary Louisa, daughter of the Rev. Edward Vinall, Vicar of Hildenborough, Kent; b. April 23, 1881; adm. Sept. 27, 1895 (H); left Aug. 1899; emigrated to Canada in 1901; joined the Seaforth Highlanders at Vancouver on the outbreak of Great War I, and came to England with a draft of that regiment in 1916; 2nd Lieut. in the Irish Guards; went out to the western front in 1918, attached the Guards Machine Gun Regt.; m. Katherine Isabel Bingham Powell; killed in action near Villiers Pol and Le Quesnoy Nov. 4, 1918.
