FOLEY, THOMAS, 1ST BARON FOLEY, son of Thomas Foley MP, Stoke Edith, Herefordshire, and his first wife Hester, dau. of Thomas Andrews, St. Mary at Hill, London; b. 8 Aug 1716; adm. Jun 1724; in under school list 1731; Trinity Coll. Cambridge, adm. fellow commoner 27 Sep 1732; BA 1735/6; MA 1739; MP Droitwich 1741 - 16 Dec 1747, 1754-68, Herefordshire 1768 - 20 May 1776; succeeded to estates of father 1749 and to estates of his cousin Thomas, 2nd Baron Foley 1766; created Baron Foley 20 May 1776; m. 28 Mar 1740 Hon. Grace Granville, third dau. of George Granville, 1st Baron Lansdowne; d. 14 Nov 1777.
