        FULHAM, EDWARD, son of Edward Fulham, Clerk of Works to Dean and Chapter of Westminster, and Dorothy, dau. of William Fosbroke, Cranford, Northants.; bapt. St. Margaret, Westminster 24 Oct 1606; adm.; KS ; elected head to Christ Church, Oxford 1624, matr. 9 May 1628, aged 20, Westminster Student (still 1642 ?), Tutor; BA 1628; MA 1631 (incorp. Cambridge 1631); BD 16 Jan 1642/4; DD 1660; Whyte’s Professor of Moral Philosophy, Oxford Univ., 27 Jan 1633/4 -8; Proctor 1639; ordained; Rector of Wootton, Oxfordshire 1638; Rector of Hampton Poyle, Oxfordshire 1641; Prebendary of Chichester by 2 Jun 1641 [- ?1674]; deprived of his benefices by the Parliamentary Visitors, and imprisoned; went abroad upon his release, becoming Chaplain to the English Factory at Leghorn; Vicar of Bray, Berks., 1660; Canon of Windsor from 12 Jul 1660; Rector of West Ilsley, Berks., 1662-74; m. Margaret, fifth dau. of Rev. Samuel Clerke DD, Rector of St. Peter’s, Northampton; d. 9 Dec 1694. [But the careers of Fulham and his son of the same name seem to have become confused : Russell Barker and Stenning record that it was this Edward Fulham who was Prebendary of Lichfield 7 Jun 1673-89 and a Chaplain in Ordinary to Charles II 1676].
