Hum. 1905; Newdigate Prize for English Verse 1904; B.A. 1905; M.A. 1910; D.D. 1924; Lecturer and Tutor at Ch. Ch. 1910-4, official student 1911-4; Wells Theol. Coll. 1906; ordained 1907; Curate of Leeds 1907-10; Examining Chaplain to the Bishop of Wakefield 1910-6; Resident Chaplain to the Archbishop of Canterbury 1914-24; Dean of Canterbury March 21, 1924; editor of The Meaning of the Creed (1917), and other works; consecrated Bishop of Chichester June 12, 1929; Hon.
