Scope and content
Letter from W.I. Croome to Bishop of Gloucester, 10th May 1946. Stephen Dykes-Bower (architect, and subsequently Surveyor of the Fabric at Westminster Abbey), deeply interested in Gloucester Cathedral, is prepared to write a note on the historic and artistic importance of the Deanery in order to attract funds for its restoration...but might assume that he would be granted the work in return, whereas the work will almost certainly go to Colonel Waller, Supervisor of the Cathedral Works.
