Letter from John Masefield, 7th November 1947. The Poet Laureate (as shown by the name of his house, Burcote Brook). Enclosing proof copy of a play based on the story of St George - was to have been performed in St George's Chapel, Windsor, on St George's Day 1948, but this project has been abandoned. Is writing to Harold Costley White along with the Deans of other cathedrals, in the hope that it might be worth presenting in the nave or chapter house. The music has been composed by the Keeper of the King's Musick, Sir Arnold Bax.
