Sep 1735 (Edwards'); KS (Capt. ) 1739; Capt. of the School 1743; elected head to Christ Church, Oxford 1744, matr. 28 May 1744, Westminster Student 24 Dec 1744 – void 30 Jun 1750; MP Lichfield from 1747; joint Secretary with Edward Wortley Montagu (qv) to Plenipotentiaries at Congress of Aix-la-Chapelle 1748; Under-Secretary of State 1749-51; d. unm. 19 Oct 1753.
