Elizabeth Barbara St. John, dau. of John St. John, 11th Baron St. John of Bletso; b. 22 Apr 1797; adm. 26 May 1807; left 1808; Christ Church, Oxford, matr. 9 May 1815; assumed surname of Halford in lieu of Vaughan 1815; Ensign, 43rd Foot 5 Mar 1818; Lieut., 33rd Foot 1821; half-pay 8 Aug 1822; MP (Cons) South Leicestershire 1832-57; succ. father as 2nd baronet 9 Mar 1844; DL JP Leicestershire; m. 31 Jul 1824 his cousin Barbara, dau. of Right Hon. Sir John Vaughan PC, Judge of Court of Common Pleas; d. 22 May 1868.
