Hamilton, of the Middle Temple, writer and barrister-at-law, and Ellen Adèle, writer; b. 17 March, 1904; attended Holland House School, Hove (1912-13), Colet Court, Hammersmith (1915); adm. 26 Sept. 1918 (G); left April 1919; asst. stage man., actor (under Patrick Henderson), author and playwright, author of Monday Morning (1925), Rope (1929), Gas Light (1938) and Hangover Square (1941), along with numerous other works; m. 1st, 6 Aug. 1930 (div. 1953) Lois Marie Martin; 2nd, 10 Apr. 1954 Lady Ursula Chetwynd-Talbot, dau. of Viscount Ingestre; d. 23 Sept. 1962.
