Letter from Bishop Woodward, 14th December 1945. Bishop of Bristol, but his nomination to Gloucester was announced on 30th November 1945. 30 confirmations mean that he can't come to Gloucester any time soon. Between them they will make Gloucester the mother church of the diocese in fact as well as name.

Recalls their visit to Khartoum in 1949 to preach the Gordon Sermon. Changes have taken place in Sudan but the church remains stable and continues to flourish.

Still keeps in touch with Westminster - knows Walter Hamilton, and remembers that Harold Costley White used to welcome him so kindly when he came to preach to the boys.
