Bishop of Bristol, but his nomination to Gloucester was announced on 30th November 1945. 30 confirmations mean that he can't come to Gloucester any time soon. Between them they will make Gloucester the mother church of the diocese in fact as well as name.

Letter from Canon B.J. Harper, 6th November 1960. Hon. Sec. The Sudan Church Association. Thanks Harold Costley White for his contribution to the Review. Recalls their visit to Khartoum in 1949 to preach the Gordon Sermon. Changes have taken place in Sudan but the church remains stable and continues to flourish.
