Has only got as far as the first paragraph, found it confusing, and tentatively and apologetically offers a rewriting. Looking forward to reading the whole, partly because they had discussed the possibility together, and partly because he thoroughly enjoyed Mary Cole (Countess of Berkely: A Biography - Harrap 1961).
