Recollections of Boat House - two loyal OWW always there to help, Manisty (Herbert - 'My word' as he always said) and Phillimore (uncertain which one!). Harold Costley White is 'father of water at Westminster and Gloucester (see Previous letters). 'What sad days we live in - may we have again "the spacious days of great Elizabeth."'
