Letter from L.O. Need, 2nd April 1953. Solicitor and Town Clerk. Reports a meeting of the City Council in which the Mayor spoke warmly of Harold Costley White's period as Dean, and in particular the zeal with which he raised large sums to restore the fabric of the Cathedral.

Letter from Lawrence Tanner, 9th February 1952. Sympathy re Harold Costley White's phlebitis. Holiday in Sidmouth. Recollections of Boat House - two loyal OWW always there to help, Manisty (Herbert - 'My word' as he always said) and Phillimore (uncertain which one!). Harold Costley White is 'father of water at Westminster and Gloucester (see Previous letters). 'What sad days we live in - may we have again "the spacious days of great Elizabeth."'
