Year per Horsfall. Proposal to print the collation of the Agamemnon in the Museum Criticum, if PE does not object.
E. Berens congratulates PE on Alban Hall. Elections for Camden Professorship have not yet taken place, but he hears the outcome is certain.
Grosvenor Charles Bedford to Peter Elmsley
Written phonetically as with a cold in the nose. Advises PE not to use a handkerchief he left when playing cards a week ago. People poking their noses into Lord Melville's private affairs (last person to be impeached in the UK, in this year).
Thomas Gaisford to Peter Elmsley
Work at Press. Cold in Bodleian makes it impossible to study there.

Recommends that PE accepts one of the select preacherships at Oxford as well as the Bampton lectureship in order to prove that he has followed the studies of his profession (as well as those horribly pagan and idolatrous ones which are still pursued at Westminster and Eton).

PE to visit Southey in Keswisk - CW will be in Chester for his wife's confinement and would love to see him there.
Blomfield correspondence - part 1
Letters from Charles James Blomfield to Dr Emsley
Revd Charles Strong (formerly of Wadham) proposes a text and translation of Hecuba, and asks PE in advance for help with any problems.
