JONES, HENRY, son of Ven. Walter Jones DD, Prebendary of Westminster and Archdeacon of Brecon, Rector of Sunningwell, Berks., and Philippa, dau. of Samuel Fell (qv); bapt. Sunningwell, Berks., 7 Oct 1649; adm.; KS 1664; elected to Christ Church, Oxford 1668, matr. 11 Dec 1668, aged 18, Westminster Student 16 Jul 1669 – void 1675; BA 1672; MA 1675; ordained; Rector of Sunningwell, Berks., 1673-90, when ousted as a non-juror; subsequently took the oaths and restored to Sunningwell 1705-7; bequeathed to Bodleian Library, Oxford, his collection of MSS, some of which had belonged to his uncle John Fell, Bishop of Oxford; m.; buried Worcester Cathedral 28 Oct 1707.
