        Mills, Gerald Edgell, brother of Richard Oswald Mills (q.v.); b. Oct. 18, 1871; adm. Sept. 24, 1885 (G); left July 1890; Colonial Audit Branch, Exchequer and Audit Dept., 1890; Management and Administration Dept. Royal Courts of Justice 1895; chief clerk 1921; called to the bar at the Inner Temple Nov. 17, 1903; joined the R.N.V.R. Anti-Aircraft Corps as an A.B. Oct. 1914, was gazetted Sub-Lieut. June 3, 1915, and became Second in Command of the Corps March 1, 1918; demob. Feb. 8, 1919; mentioned in despatches; O.B.E. June 27, 1919; originated special barrage scheme which was used for the defence of London; edited the A.A.C. Journal, and was joint author of several legal works; a chief clerk in the Management and Administration Dept., Royal Courts of Justice; m. June 6, 1900, Ina Frances, daughter of Arthur Horatio Poyser, K.C., of Sydenham, Kent; d. July 12, 1952.
