April 1, 1914; went out to the western front Aug. 1914; served in South Africa 1899-1902; mentioned in despatches; D.S.O. Aug. 22, 1902; d. at Ypres, Flanders, Oct. 31, 1914; of wounds received in action at Gheluvelt Oct. 29; unm.
