        TAYLOR, CHARLES CYRIL, son of Charles Douglas Taylor (qv); b. 29 Mar 1804; adm. 12 Jan 1814; in school list Oct 1814; Ensign, 46th Foot 26 Mar 1823; Lieut., 26 May 1825; Capt., half-pay, unattached 11 Jul 1826; 20th Foot 19 Sep 1826; Maj., 27 Sep 1831; Lieut. -Col., half pay 16 Jun 1837; 29th Foot 30 Jun 1843; CB 30 Mar 1839; served in Kolapore expedition 1827-8, Canada 1837-8 and First Sikh War; wounded at battle of Ferozepore 22 Dec 1845; m. 21 Jun 1832 Nancy Bursberre (IGI, sic : Burslem ?); killed at battle of Sobraon 10 Feb 1846, while in command of 3rd Brigade.
