Oxon., matric. Michaelmas 1897; B.A. 1902; South African Civil Service, Postmaster-General's Dept. 1902, and in the Lands Dept., Pretoria: served in Great War I with the S. African forces in German East Africa; a member of the S. African Lawn Tennis Council; m. Oct. 20, 1908, Helen Gertrude Louis, elder daughter of William Valencie Simkins, of Cape Town; d. March 12, 1936.
