School 23 Jan 1880 (H); left Dec 1883; 2nd Lieut., East Surrey Regt., 5 Feb 1887; Lieut., Indian Staff Corps 31 Jul 1888; Capt., 5 Feb 1898; Maj., 5 Feb 1905; Lieut. -Col., 5 Feb 1913; retd. 6 Feb 1913; Commandant, Naga Hills Military Police 1900-5; served in Manipur expedition 1891, on North-Western frontier 1897-8, and Tirah campaign 1897-8; served 1914-18 war, raising and commanding 13th batt.
