Thoresby-Jones, Percy, eldest son of James Thoresby-Jones, M.D., M.R.C.S., of Maida Vale, by Janet, daughter of James Simpson, of Colleonard, Banff; b. July 6, 1878; adm. Jan. 15, 1891 (H); exhibitioner 1892; elected to Ch. Ch. Oxon. 1897, matric. Oct. 1897; 1st class Classics (Mods.) 1899; 1st class Lit. Hum. 1901; B.A. 1901; was an asst. master at several schools, and for a short time secretary to the Church in Wales; author of The Welsh Border Country (I 938).
