Walpole, Robert Henry, second son of the Rt. Rev. George Henry Somerset Walpole, D.D., Bishop of Edinburgh, by Mildred Helen, daughter of Charles Foster Barham, M.D., of Truro, Cornwall; b. Jan. 18, 1892; adm. from Durham School Jan. 14, 1904 (H); left July 1911; Magd. Coll. Camb., matric. Michaelmas 1911; B.A. 1914; Professor of English, St. Paul's Coll., Calcutta, Aug. 1914-Oct. 1916; enlisted in Nov. 1916; Lieut. Rifle Brigade May 30, 1917; served in France, where he was wounded at Cambrai Dec. 1, 1917, and at Lens May 14, 1918; at Salonika Nov. 1918 - Feb. 1919; demob. April 1919; an asst. master at preparatory schools in England 1919-26; at King Edward VI School, Stratford-onĀ­ Avon, 1927-49; retired July 1949; d. May 6, 1963.
