Goldsmiths and Silversmiths. Founded by Manoah Rhodes (1810-1881) in 1836. Became Manoah Rhodes & Sons Ltd in 1888. Firm under the control of F.C.M.S. Rhodes in 1915.

Silversmiths. Established in Sheffield in 1775. Incorporated as Mappin Brothers Ltd in mid-19th Century. Opened London showroom in 1849. In 1860, John Mappin broke away from Mappin Brothers and started Mappin & Company. He was joined 2 years later by his brother-in-law George Webb. Mappin, Webb and Co was formed in 1864. Mappin & Webb Ltd was first recorded in 1889, based in Sheffield. The original London business, Mappin Brothers, was aquired by Mappin & Webb Ltd in 1903.
