PESHALL, THOMAS JOHN, brother of Sir Charles John Peshall, Bart. (qv); b. 20 Apr 1785; at Winchester Coll. in 1791; adm. 18 Apr 1795; in school list 1795; entered Royal Navy; Lieut., 3 Mar 1804; while serving on HMS La Franchise in Jan 1806, he was put in charge of the schooner El Carmen, with orders to land a batch of wounded prisoners at Campeachy; reported to have been captured by the Spaniards and taken to Vera Cruz, but never heard of again (will proved PCC 18 Jun 1811).
