Silversmiths. Established in Birmingham in 1800 by William Hutton. Became Hutton & Houghton between 1818-1820. Reverted to William Hutton 1820-1864. Transferred to Sheffield in 1832. Became William Hutton & Son in 1864, then William Hutton and Sons from c.1870. Acquired Rupert Favell & Co, and became William Hutton & Sons Ltd in 1893. Acquired Creswick & Co in 1902. Absorbed by James Dixon & Sons in 1930.
Silversmith. Became William Neale & Son from 1890 and William Neale & Son Ltd from 1909.
Silversmith active since 1867. Purchased stock and premises of Richard Attenborough in 1887. Becamse James Jay Ltd and became Jay, Richard Attenborough & Co Ltd in 1904.
Silversmiths. Established by John Round in Sheffield in 1847. Went into partnership with his son Edwin. Became John Round & Son Ltd in 1874. Amalgamated Ridge, Allcard & Co in 1886, and John Ridge became the manager. Purchased in the 1930s by Joseph Rogers & Sons.
Silversmiths. Richard Martin & Joshua Hall entered into partnership in 1854. Became Martin, Hall & Co Ltd in 1866. Went into liquidation in 1936.
Silversmiths. Established in 1891 as Alexander Clark. Became The Alexander Clark Manufacturing Co c.1898-1912. Became The Alexander Clark Co Ltd from 1912 until the 1940s.
Silversmiths active 1831-1943. Thomas Bradbury had been a partner in Watson & Co, originally Fenton, Creswick & Co (est. c. 1789). When William Watson retired in 1831, the business was continued but Thomas Bradbury and his son under the name Thomas Bradbury & Son. In 1855, changed its name to Thomas Bradbury & Sons. Became Thomas Bradbury & Sons Ltd in 1905. Closed in 1943 and dies and tooling were bought by Atkin Brothers.
Silversmiths. Ramsden, Omar, 1873-1939, and Carr, Alwyn, 1872-1940, established the Ramsden & Carr Studio in Chelsea in 1898. The partnership ended in 1919.
Silversmiths. Established in Bristol by Abraham Solomon Blanckensee in 1826, moved to Birmingham shortly afterwards. entered business with Saul Samuel as Blanckensee, Samuel & Co. The partnership dissolved in 1858. Converted in 1887 to S. Blanckensee & Son Ltd.
Silversmith established in 1880. Merged with Bentley & Co (est. 1934) c. 1998. Became Bentley & Skinner.
