Christmas 1806; left 1810; Christ Church, Oxford, matr. 28 Oct 1812; private secy. to father when Home Secretary, Jan. 1815 - Jan 1819; ordained; Rector of Poole Keynes, Wilts., 22 Feb 1821-44; succ. father as 2nd Viscount Sidmouth 15 Feb 1844; m. 20 Apr. 1820 Mary, eldest dau. of Rev. John Young, Rector of Thorpe Malsor, Northants.; d. 25 Mar 1864.
