Anderson, William Seton (Chevallier), son of Charles Macdonell Anderson, M. D., M.R.C.S., of West Brampton, by Maud Chevallier, daughter of Henry Chevallier Cobbold, of KensingĀ ton; b. Jan. 31, 1898; adm. April 26, 1912 (R); left Dec. 1914; 2nd Lieut. R.E. Aug. 26, 1916; Lieut. Feb. 26, 1918; served in Flanders and Germany; retired Feb. 1920 and farmed at Southwater, Sussex; assumed the additional surname of Seton and abandoned the name Chevallier 1929; recalled to the Army as Lieut. R.E. 1940; Lieut.-Col.; Commandant of No. 143 O. C. T. U., Transportation Services, R.E.; demobilised July 1947 and entered the service of the L. M. S. Railway; Principal of the Railway Executive Staff Training Schools, Darlington, 1952; m. Sept. 17. 1923, Helen, daughter of J. A. Campbell, of Melbourne, Australia.
