George Annesley (qv); b.; at school 1658-60 (Busby’s Account Book); left Dec 1661; Christ Church, Oxford, matr. 4 Dec 1661, aged 16; Capt. of Horse, Ireland 1663-70; FRS 20 May 1663-82; MP (I) Co. Waterford 1666; JP Hampshire and Surrey 1674-81, DL Hampshire 1680-1; Col. Militia Foot, Hampshire, c. 1675-81; Custos Rotulorum, Hampshire 1676-81; MP Winchester Feb 1679-81; succ. his father as 2nd Earl of Anglesey 6 Apr 1686; joined the Bishops in their celebrated petition to James II 17 Nov 1688; m. 1669 Lady Elizabeth Manners, fourth dau. of John Manners, 8th Earl of Rutland; d. 1 Apr 1690.
