BULLER, JOHN, eldest son of John Buller MP, East Looe, Cornwall, and his first wife Mary, daughter of Sir John St. Aubyn, Bart. , MP; nephew of William Buller (adm. 1743, qv); b. ; adm. ? (Memoirs of William Hickey, iii, 245-6, recording his attendance at OWW dinner at Calcutta 1783, but the fact of his having been at Westminster is not otherwise substantiated and he may have been at Eton); Writer, EICS Bengal, 7 Mar 1777; arrived in India 3 Jul 1778; Assistant to Collector, Chittagong, 1778; Factor, 1782; Senior Merchant, 1788; Collector, Tripura, to 1792; member, Board of Revenue, 1792, Senior Member 1801-2; MP East Looe 1796 - May 1799, but remained in India and did not take his seat in House of Commons; returned to England 1802; MP East Looe 1802-7; m. 1st, 7 Sep 1795 (div. 1799) Catherine Eliza, dau. of Thomas Wiggins; m. 2nd, 11 Dec 1805 Augusta Eliza, dau. of John Nixon, La Bergerie, Queens Co. , Ireland; d. 3 May 1807, in 47th year]
