DICKENSON, NEWTON, brother of Edward Wingfield Dickenson (qv); b. 26 Jul 1781; adm. 22 Jun 1792 (Clapham); in school lists 1795, 1797; played cricket against Eton at Lord’s 8 Aug 1799; left 1799; Ensign, 2nd Foot Guards 3 Feb 1804; Lieut. and Capt., 12 May 1808; retd. 31 Jan 1810; served at battle of Copenhagen and on expedition to Walcheren; DL JP Herefordshire; m. 14 Mar 1810 (IGI) Eliza, widow of Sir George Charles Brathwaite-Boughton, Bart., and illegitimate dau. of Sir Edward Boughton, Bart.; d. 7 Nov 1865.
