        DRAKE, THOMAS, third son of John Drake (in school lists 1764-7, qv); b. 19 Feb 1782; adm.; KS 1795; elected to Christ Church, Oxford 1799, matr. 22 May 1799, Westminster Student 24 Dec 1799 - void 25 Jun 1808; BA 1803; MA 1806; 2nd Lieut., 95th Foot 23 May 1805; 54th Foot, 5 Feb 1806; 1st Lieut., 95th Foot 15 May 1806; Capt., Canadian Fencibles 28 May 1807; 95th Foot 25 Mar 1808; Brevet Maj. and DGMG Ionian Islands 22 Apr 1813; Brevet Lieut. -Col. and QMG Mediterranean 16 Nov 1826; Brevet Col., 23 Nov 1841; Capt. and Lieut. -Col., 1st Foot Guards 14 Jul 1843, retired same day; served on the Elbe 1805-6, in Peninsular War 1808-9, 1810-3, and on Walcheren expedition 1809; CMG 9 Feb 1833; m. 21 Dec 1813 Elizabeth Sarah, eldest dau. of John Fane MP, Wormsley, Oxfordshire; d. 22 Dec 1851.
