(aged 8) Dec 1732; left 1740; Christ Church, Oxford, matr. 18 May 1742; succeeded to family’s Yorkshire estates on death of father in 1746, and to Wiltshire estates of Anthony Duncombe, 1st Baron Feversham (qv), in 1763; Grand Tour (Italy) 1747; MP Downton 12 Apr 1751-4, Morpeth 1754-68, Downton 1768- 14 Feb 1775 and from 8 Sep 1779; member, Society of Dilettanti 1747; m. 1st, 9 Feb 1748/9 Lady Diana Howard, younger dau. of Henry Howard, 4th Earl of Carlisle; m. 2nd, 24 Feb 1772 Anne, dau. of Sir Philip Jennings Clerke, Bart., MP (qv); m. 3rd, 25 Jun 1778 Charlotte, dau. of William Hale, King’s Walden, Herts.; d. 25 Nov 1779.
