EDMONDSTONE, SIR CHARLES, BART., third son of Sir Archibald Edmondstone, Bart., MP, and his first wife Susanna Mary, sister of Benjamin Harenc (qv); b. 9 Oct 1764; adm. 4 Dec 1772; left 1777 [sic : said to have been at Eton Coll. 1775-80]; Christ Church, Oxford, matr. 10 May 1780; BA 1784; adm. Lincoln’s Inn 23 Dec 1779, called to bar 10 Apr 1788; one of the Six Clerks in Chancery 1797-1807; MP Dumbartonshire 1806-7, Stirlingshire from 1812; succ. father as 2nd baronet 20 Jul 1807; m. 1st, 1 Jun 1794 Emma, sister of Randle Wilbraham (qv); m. 2nd, 4 Dec 1804 Hon. Louisa Hotham, youngest dau. of Beaumont Hotham, 2nd Baron Hotham (qv); d. 1 Apr 1821.
