FERRERS, JOHN BROMFIELD, brother of Edmund Ferrers (at school under Markham, qv); b. 10 Feb 1758; adm. 19 Jul 1773; left Whitsun 1775; Christ Church, Oxford, matr. 12 May 1777; BA 1781 (incorp. Cambridge 1808); St. John’s Coll. Cambridge, adm. pens. 5 Jul 1808; MA Cambridge 1808; ordained deacon (Oxford for Norwich) 10 Jun 1781, priest (London) 26 May 1782; Rector of Beddington, Surrey, from 1783; m. 1800 Charlotte, widow of Gen. Thomas Pitcairn, and sister of Charles Proby (qv); d. 6 Jun 1841.
