FOLEY, THOMAS, 3RD BARON FOLEY, youngest son of Thomas Foley, 2nd Baron Foley (qv); b. 22 Dec 1780; at school under Vincent (Steward, Anniversary Dinner 1814); succ. father as 3rd Baron Foley 2 Jul 1793; Christ Church, Oxford, matr. 7 May 1798; MA 1800; sportsman and racehorse owner; Master, The Quorn Hunt 1802-6, The Albrighton Hunt 1805-10 and The Worcestershire Foxhounds 1813-5; horses of his won the Derby 1806, the One Thousand Guineas 1815 and the Two Thousand Guineas 1818; supported Whig party in House of Lords; Capt., Corps of Gentlemen Pensioners, from 8 Dec 1830; Privy Councillor 8 Dec 1830; Lord Lieut. Worcestershire from 27 Apr 1831; m. 18 Aug 1806 Lady Cecilia Olivia Geraldine Fitzgerald, fifth dau. of William Fitzgerald, 2nd Duke of Leinster (I) KP; d. 16 Apr 1833.
