FRASER (or FRAIZER), CHARLES, second son of Sir Alexander Fraser (or Fraizer), Bart., MD FRCP, Physician in Ordinary to Charles I and II, and his first wife Elizabeth Dowchly; b.; at school in 1660; KS 1664; elected to Trinity Coll. Cambridge 1667, adm. pens. 28 Jun 1667, scholar 1668; BA 1670/1; MA 1674; MD 1678; Fellow, Trinity Coll., 1673 - c. 1683; Physician in Ordinary to Charles II, James II and William III from 25 Aug 1677; FRCP 1684; said to have become insane c. 1698; translated some of Plutarch’s Lives and was possibly the translator of Marana’s Letters of a Turkish Spy; dead by 2 Feb 1700.
