Sept. 20, 1914; served in France and Belgium 1914-5, and was wounded March 5, 1915; Lieut. Nov. 11, 1915; employed in recruiting 1916-8; on the managing staff of Messrs. J. S. Fry and Sons, cocoa and chocolate manufacturers, Bristol and London, from 1919; m. Jan. 23, 1918, Aline Lucinda, daughter of William Shaw Harriss Gastrell, of Rockbeare, Devon; d. April 28, 1936.
