Garrard, James Robert Lindsay, second son of James Mortimer Garrard, of Westminster; b. June 12, 1871; adm. Jan. 22, 1885 (R); left Dec. 1886; 2nd Lieut. 3rd Batt. South Staffs Regt. April 18, 1891, 5th Dragoon Guards July 13, 1892; Lieut. Sept. 6, 1893; retired 1902; served in the South African War as Adjutant 35th Imperial Yeomanry 1901-2; rejoined the 1st Reserve of Cavalry at Aldershot as temp. Capt. Nov. 1914 and served with the 5th Dragoon Guards in France 1916-7, until he was invalided home; resided in Guernsey; m. Oct. 18, 1894, Ada Bain, daughter of Henry Brown, of Philipburn, Selkirk; d. 11 July 1935.
