Artillery Co. and went out to the western front Sept. 17, 1914; was wounded at Hooge June 6, 1915, and invalided home; 2nd Lieut. 2/13th Batt. the London Regt. Sept. 15, 1915, the Lincoln Regt. June 20, 1916; Lieut. Dec. 20, 1916; returned to western front June 25 - Nov. 1916, at Salonika Nov. 1916 - June 1917, in Egypt and Palestine June 1917 - Feb. 1918, being wounded Nov. 6, 1917; M.C. Jan. 18, 1918; M.B.E. Jan. 1, 1923; retired from Active List Sept. 1947; Regimental Administrative Officer 1947-51; m. 1st July 6, 1918, Lorna May Wakeford Town, only daughter of Col. Frederick William Town Attree, R.E.; 2nd Jan. 23, 1947, Catherine, second daughter of John Macleod, of Braeselet, Isle of Lewis; d. 1974.
