Biographical history

HODGES, NATHANIEL, son of Very Rev. Thomas Hodges DD, Dean of Hereford, previously Vicar of Kensington, Middlesex; b. 13 Sep 1629; adm.; KS; elected to Trinity Coll. Cambridge 1646, but went to Christ Church, Oxford, matr. 27 Feb 1650/1, Canoneer Student 1648-60, Faculty Student 1660-1; BA 13 Feb 1651/2; MA 1654; BM and DM 1659; took a house in Walbrook, London, and commenced medical practice there; MRCP 30 Sep 1659, FRCP 2 Apr 1672, Censor 1682, Harveian Orator 1683; conspicuous for his services to the sick during the plague of 1665; author, Loimologia 1672; m.; d. 10 Jun 1688, while confined to Ludgate Prison for debt.
