George Grenville MP, Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury Jun 1763 – Jul 1765; Under Clerk, Treasury, from 29 Aug 1763; Deputy Teller, Exchequer, from 1767; FSA 17 Nov 1763; absurdly suspected by Lord North of being the author of Junius’s Letters; author of a number of pamphlets in Grenville’s interest; d. 22 Jan 1773. DNB. [Mother presumably a sister of Salusbury Cade (qv), his predecessor as Paymaster of Gentlemen Pensioners].
